"Wildhorse" magnesite is usually found in sedimentary beds from a hydrothermal or hot water alteration of serpentine. It is a magnesite mixed with hematite in the simplest terms. "Wild horse" is a relatively newcomer stone being used in Native American jewelry and by fetish carvers that is mined in the Gila Wilderness area in southern Arizona. Its chocolate-brown color wit off-white spots resembles that of an appaloosa horse thus so it is often called Appaloosa or Crazy Horse magnesite.
