Revered Materials

Our silver and turquoise rings feature traditional and contemporary artistic styles and crafting techniques that date back centuries. Sterling silver was developed in Europe in the 12th century to serve as currency, and centuries later became increasingly popular for cutlery and jewelry. Sterling silver is used extensively in metalwork because of its fashioning properties. Fine silver itself tends to be very soft and unsuitable for metalwork, and so other alloys are added such as copper, zinc, platinum, or germanium. These metals increase the silver’s strength and resistance to tarnishing, thus making it sterling silver.

Turquoise, on the other hand, is one of the central gemstones to traditional Native American jewelry-making, especially in the Southwest. For thousands of years, turquoise has appeared throughout civilizations such as those of the ancient Persian, Aztec, Chinese, Mesopotamian, and Mesoamerican peoples. From as far back as 200 BC, turquoise has been mined throughout the American Southwest by several indigenous peoples. The craft of silvermaking and jewelry-making with turquoise came into its own in the 19th and 20th centuries, thanks to Hopi and Najavo artisans. Today you get to enjoy exquisite silver and turquoise rings made with techniques inherited from this rich history.

Authentic Quality

Turquoise has become increasingly rare today, as many of the older mines have been exhausted. This scarcity has necessitated imports or even adulterated substances to satisfy customer demand. Our turquoise, however, is 100% authentic and pure, directly sourced from local mines in the Southwest. We work with the Zuni, Hopi, Navajo, and Santo Domingo tribes in the region, selecting our favorite silver and turquoise rings from award-winning artists to present to our customers. We carry high quality ring designs for both men and women.
