This is a beautiful man's inlay watch band by premier, award-winning Zuni artist, Don Dewa. The watch tips are inlaid with Sleeping Beauty turquoise, Mediterranean coral, mother of pearl and jet. The watch tips have the Sun Face design on each side with one of the Sun Face's being a spinner with inlay on the reverse. The reverse side of the Sun Face spinner is inlaid with coral, jet and turquoise. Don Dewa is known for the "spinner design" that he uses in his inlay work. The Sun Face is also known as the Sun Shield and sometimes referred to as the Sun God design. The Sun Face is a pueblo symbol respresenting the sun deity and the face is usually divided into facial portions with the traditional colors. These colors represent aspects of the rising sun as acknowledged in ritual morning prayer.
The watch tips are 2" in length and 1 5/16" at the widest point. The watch tips are on an extension band that can be adjusted to size. Beautiful collector's piece! Signed by the artist.
